Theo's Flight is the seventh episode and Season 3 of The Cosby Show, also the 56th overall in the series. The episode was directed by Tony Singletary and written by Gary Kott. The episode Mother, May I? originally aired in the United States on NBC on October 30, 1986.


Theo and Cockroach decide they want to learn to fly, but Cliff doesn't want to waste his money on another dream of his son's.

Plot summaryEdit

Theo wants to take flying lessons after he is impressed by a guest speaker at his school - a World War II fighter pilot. When Theo asks Cliff's permission to fly, Cliff jokingly reminds his son of all the other professions he has considered in his young life. Meanwhile, a bossy Rudy introduces the family to her first boyfriend, a boy she clearly has wrapped around her finger.


Historical fact errorEdit

Clair explained to Theo that the March on Washington ended in front of the Washington Monument, when in fact it was the Lincoln Memorial.

Note: This is episode marks the first appearance of Deon Richmond as Kenny, a.k.a "Bud". Sabrina Le Beauf and Lisa Bonet both do not appear in this episode.
